I’m quite pleased with this one, created last year for Matt Harcourt. Matt chose a snail because, he says, “I generally move quite slowly.” I liked that – not what you might expect from a guy on a bicycle! The banded snail just seemed right for the colour of the bike. More recently, Matt came back for a Tortoiseshell butterfly on this beautiful old Dutch bell, so I thought I’d feature the two of them in a double bill. I’ve put in some photos to show how I do the bells. I think this one’s destined for an old green Raleigh so the fiery tones should work nicely.
