Local rap group Bastard Sunz have produced a modified version of the £B1 note with a bleaker angle on Bristol life. Phil West‘s silhouettes have been switched with icons of a darker shade, while my illustration has acquired an apocalyptic twist. With the £B celebrating all that’s bright and shiny about Bristol’s lively ‘independent’ scene, maybe they felt something was being left out of the picture. It might be a bit grim for some people’s taste, but you could say they’ve got a point.
