This lovely but defunct old Raleigh was painted to bring a splash of brightness to the walls of the Lifecycle bike workshop in Horfield. The irregular spiral and trumpet designs are based on early Celtic enamels, while the internal patterns are taken from African printed fabrics. The tattoo is designed to set off the caracter of the ‘much-loved’ frame while giving it a bright, fresh look.

You can see the bicycle in situ at the North Bristol Arts Trail later this month, along with a couple of my prints and the work of a number of other artists.
